What to do after you have suffered a cyberattack?
You have reported an incident and while you are waiting for our teams to respond, you can do some things on your own:
isolate the affected systems (don't turn them off!) – remove the affected computers or servers from the network (pull out the network cables or disconnect them from the wireless network)
- leave the affected systems on – leave the computers plugged in, don't turn them off or initiate any kind of shutdown procedure
- stop using the affected systems and don't try to use the compromised credentials
- write down anything you think is suspicious – record the time and suspicious behavior (any occurrence of messages regarding ransom for locked data, etc.)
- notify, if you haven't already, your IT department and management
- ensure backup – if there is a backup that is not on the affected systems, ensure that it is not accessible from the infected computers
- do not pay the ransom (in case of a ransomware attack)
